To call something sanctified is to call it holy or sacred, set apart and unique.
Genesis 1:27 says that God made all of humanity in His own image, and He said it was good. This means that every human being, big and small, lost and found, holds a major piece of God in them that is meant to point them to their true identity in Him — who God always intended them to be when He first thought about them.
Here at Care Pregnancy Resource Center, we get to see a lot of people made in the image of God, and they don’t even know the value that they carry.
We know that without this knowledge of who we are seeded deeply in our hearts, we can’t function in the way God always intended us to function. Instead, we live in hiding, shame, anger, and fear. It’s so much harder to make decisions that lead to life when we don’t know who we really are.
Because so many of our clients don’t know their own value, it can be hard for them to see the value of the little one inside them too.
As Christians, we know the weight of worth that every single human being carries. It is our great privilege at CPRC to get to call out the sacredness and holiness, the value and worth, that our clients and their babies carry simply because they were created by God.
They are worth a whole lot simply because they exist.
January 19th, 2020 is National Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. This month, as we celebrate the gift of every life and honor each one that has been lost, join us as we aim to intentionally acknowledge the sacred image of God in every human being, loving them in a way that will help each recognize their value and point them to the One that will make them whole.
